If you’re already making breakfast, you might as well knock out lunch, too. This easy soy-steamed salmon with broccoli and rice has become one of my go-to midday meals—and it couldn’t be simpler.

Here’s how I do it:

  • Toss as much broccoli as you want into a pot.
  • Add as much salmon as you’re hungry for.
  • Pour in 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • Add 1 cup water
  • Mix in 1 teaspoon chili garlic crisps

Cover and steam for about 7 minutes—a little longer if you’re cooking a big batch.

Once it’s done, I serve it over rice, sprinkle on crumbled cashews, and if I have it on hand, I finish it with a little furikake (a Japanese seasoning that adds incredible umami).
